So we know that there are countless factors that affect eating, but did you know that COLOUR can have an impact on our eating behaviours? It’s true! Research has found that two colours in particular affect how much we eat:
- RED stimulates appetite
- BLUE reduces appetite
So you can use this to your advantage – think red placemats or red walls in your dining room if you want people to eat more (think restaurants) or if you yourself have trouble getting enough calories in. Think blue plates, walls or placemats if you are trying to manage your weight or eat less.
